This papers selected Yaoluoping national nature reserve as the research point, and selected the different altitudes (800m below,800-1000m,1000-1200m and1200m above) of different vegetation types (meadow, tea garden, rice field, shrubbery-broadleaf mixed forest, shrubbery, broadleaf forest, coniferous-shrubbery-broadleaf mixed forest, coniferous-shrubbery mixed forests, coniferous-broadleaf-bamboo mixed forests, coniferous-broadleaf mixed forest, coniferous forest, coniferous plantation, bamboo forest) as the research object, based on the field investigation and labof atory analysis method of sampling the litter layer, humus layer, and illuvial horizon, and determine the physical and chemical properties, microbiology biomass, and the soil enzyme activity, then analyses the different altitudes, different vegetation types and different soil layers of soil physical and chemical properties, the microbial biomass and the influence of the soil enzyme activity, and the results show that:(1) In the vertical profile of the soil, the physical and chemical properties, microbiology biomass, and the soil enzyme activity almost show litter layer> humus layer> illuvial horizon phenomenon in different elevations and different vegetation types, the pH value of litter layer is greater than in turn leaves illuvial horizon and humus layer.(2) There was significant relationship (p<0.01) between the contents of total nitrogen and total carbon with the rise of altitude. The contents of total phosphorus, available phosphorus and available nitrogen increased with the rise of altitude. Soil microbial biomass of humus layer show the trend of gradually increased, with the elevations rise, and the soil enzyme activity increase at first, and then drop generally. Soil humus content was affected by temperature and water ratio, and dehydrogenase, invertase and urease activities show the significant negative correlation with elevations in litter layer. (3) Soil carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus contents were higher in different types of vegetation, there were many differences between different vegetation types. On the whole, carbon content was highest under broadleaf forest, shrubbery-broadleaf mixed forest next, other vegetation types lower, and shrubbery lowest. Different vegetation types had different physical and chemical properties. The soil enzyme activity had differences under different vegetation types, and different kinds of enzyme activities in various types of vegetation were also different.(4) In this study, soil microbial biomass was controlled by the factors such as soil moisture content, the main humus, N contents. In humus layer, soil moisture content, total carbon, humus, total nitrogen and available nitrogen contents affected the microbial biomass carbon, nitrogen variation along altitudinal gradients. Humus and total nitrogen contents have the best correlation with the soil enzyme activity, and acid phosphates activity has the highest correlation with soil nutrient, it can be used as the important parameters of soil fertility evaluation.
