In recent years, metal-organic coordination polymers haveattracted attention owing to their application in the field of optical,electronic, magnetic and so on. Meanwhile, more and morecompounds with interesting structures and functions have beensynthesized in the hydro(solvo)thermal condition. A series ofimidazoledicarboxylic-based coordination polymers have beensynthesized in dissertation by hydro(solvo)thermal synthesismethods.The thesis consists of four chapters.The first chapter is an introduction. There is a brief introductionabout hydro(solvo)thermal synthesis method, magnetic and opticalperformance. Meanwhile, status of development ofimidazoledicarboxylate and its derivatives also have been introducedin this chapter. For the magnetic materials and photoluminescence,we mainly introduced their definition, classification, research methodand mechanism.In chapter two, four tetranuclear metal cluster-based compounds ,namely Cd2(HPimdc)2(1), Co2(HPimdc)2(2), [Co4(Pimdc)4(bpy)4]·3H2O (3)and [Co4(Pimdc)4(en)4] (4) are reported. Compound 1 and 2 areisomorphic, showing 3-D network structure constructed byedge-shared M4O6clusters and pimdc ligands. Strong blue photoluminescence has been observed in compound 1, which ismainly originated from pimdc ligand. Compound 2 shows aninteresting spin-canting antiferromagnetic behaviour. Compounds 3and 4 were synthesized via hydro (solve) thermal treatment withH3Pimdc and auxiliary ligands 2,2′-bpy or en. Both the two compoundscan be regarded as ideal Co4molecular squares or only slightdeviations from the ideal square geometry. Because of a big spaceresistance of 2,2′-bpy, compound 3 formed a little distortion geometry.Compared to 3, Compound 4 form a perfect Co4molecular squareowing to a small space aresistance of en.In chapter three, four compounds were obtained through thereactions of different metals salt and2-propyl-4,5-imidazoledicarboxylic acid ligand. Complex 5 featuresdouble crown ether construct, which are connected by sharing "Cocrown" to form a 3-D network. Compounds 6,7 and 8 also have thesame conformation. The ligands adoptμ3111mode to bridgeoctahedral metal atoms to form a (4, 4) lattice 2-D layer structure.In chapter four, a concise conclusion was drawn and a perspectiveof this work was expected.
