α-phenylethylamine is a kind of the very important chemical intermediates raw materials, whose derivants are widely used in medicine, chemical, emulsifier and dyes industries. The optcial antimers of α-phenylethylamine can be used in the resolutions of some acids, alcohols and esters, it also can be used as materials or auxiliaries for the synthetize of some chiralities. Therefore, the research for the synthetize of α-phenylethylamine has a very important significance. The synthesis technology and the extraction in industry of α-phenylethylamine were mainly studied in this work.In this paper, we have studied on the synthesis technology of α-phenylethyla-mine with single factor variable method, using the ammonium formic acid and acetophenone as raw materials and inspected the various factors on the reaction yield. With plentiful experiments, the reaction yield reached74.3%. The best reaction conditions were confirmed:n (acetophenone):n (formic acid ammonium)=1:4.5; the reaction temperature is at180℃; the reaction time is1.5h; formic acid ammonium in three shipments to join. A preliminary study to the split of theα-phenylethylamine.We have also studied on the extraction recovery of α-phenylethylamine from the aqueous solution and inspected the extraction ability of some different solvents. The chloroform was determined to be used as the best extraction solvent. The best volume ratio of organic phase and water and the number of theory tower plate at50℃and different extraction rate was calculated. When the extraction rate is0.9, the volume ratio of organic phase and water is0.06and the number of theory tower plate is2; when extraction rate is0.95, the volume ratio of organic phase and water is0.05and the number of theory tower plate is3; when extraction rate is0.98, the volume ratio of organic phase and water is0.08and the number of theory tower plate is3.The relationship between the temperature and the distribution coefficient when the chloroform was used as extraction solvent has been discussed in this paper. A theory model was established and regressed. The equation of theory model was concluded as lnΛ=15.262+(-3722/T), the correlation R2=0.9709.
