Gloss paper coating is a kind of coatings that plays a role of protection and decoration to the printing surface. Presently, water-based gloss paper coatings,UV gloss paper coatings and laminating is the main surface treatments technology in the packagings and printings. And water-based gloss paper coatings have replaced the other two because its unique feature of environmental protection. Otherwise, the disadvantages in properties of brightness and wear-resistance, especially adhesive-resistance district its development. There is a defect of the water-based varnish in the market that easily adhesive in the condition of high humidity and temperature. We cooperated with Zhengzhou Youjia Packaging and Technology Co., LTD aimed at developing a product that has comprehensive performances in harsh environment.Specific content as follows:BA/AA and BA/St/AA copolymers were prepared by solution polymerization used acrylic acid (AA), butyl acrylate (BA) and acrylic acid (AA), butyl acrylate (BA), styrene (St) as monomers, respectively. From the experimental data, it was found that both P(BA/AA) and P(BA/St/AA) polymeric surfactants have emulsification effect and low surface tension.BA/St/MMA copolymer was prepared by emulsion polymerization used butylaerylate (BA), methylmeth acrylate (MMA) and styrene (St) as monomers. In the presence of ammonium persulfate (APS) as initiator, P (BA/AA) or P (BA/St/AA) polymeric surfactants, sodium dodecyl sulfonate (SDS) and octyl polyoxyethylene glycol(OP)as composite emulsifier. Many technical conditions, polymerization stability, calcium ion stability, storage stability and film-forming properties of emulsions were studied. The rheological properties, chemical structure, glass transition temperature (Tg), thermal-oxidations tability, water-resistance and other properties of copolymers (including latex films) were characterized. From the experimental data, it was found that this latex had a strong water-resistance property used P(BA/St/AA) polymeric surfactants, sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDS)and octyl Polyoxyethylene glycol (OP)as composite emulsifier.BA/St/MMA copolymer was prepered by emulsion polymerization used butylaerylate (BA), methylmethacrylate (MMA), styrene (St) and vinyltriethoxysilane as monomers. In the presence of ammonium persulfate (APS) as initiator, P(BA/AA) or P(BA/St/AA) polymeric surfactants, sodium dodecyl sulfonate (SDS)and octyl polyoxyethylene glycol(OP) as composite emulsifier. Many technical conditions, polymerization stability, calcium ion stability, storage stability and film-forming properties of emulsions were studied.The rheological properties,chemieal strueture,glass transition temperature(Tg), adhesion-resistance, water-resistance, ware-resistance,stain-resistance and other properties of copolymers(including latex films)were characterized.From the experimental data, it was found that latex has ideal propetities like strong water-resistance, high adhesion-resistance and wear-resistance used vinyltriethoxysilane as monomers.The above latex, solvents and functional additives blends to be water-based gloss paper coatings. The latex films properties, adhesion-resistance, water-resistance, wear-resistance, stain-resistance and other properties were characterized.From the experimental data, it was found that the water-based gloss paper coatings have ideal propetities of water-resistance adhesion-resistance and ware-resistance in the condition of high humidity and temperature.Took the above water-based gloss paper coatings that fordize mass-produce roll out in Zhengzhou Youjia Packaging and Technology Co., LTD used process parameters according to the laboratory to some packaging and printing enterprises such as Shuanghui Group to mechanical coating.From the test data, it was found that the paper printings’ wear-resistance and adhesion-resistance had got a large degree improved in the condition of high humidity and temperature compared with the products that customers previously used.
