With the rapid development of china’s petrochemical industry, oil tank safety issues have been taken seriously. Tank bottom plate corrosion perforation is, one of the significant risks of the oil tank safety incidents.Tank bottom corrosion is one of the major hidden dangers of safety accidents of oil tank. This paper describes the corrosion of bottom plate of oil tank magnetic detection technology research significance. It analyses its limitation and prospects in the fields of magnetic flux leakage. This paper introduces the principle of magnetic leakage detection. Through the analysis of the characteristics of defect magnetic flux leakage field, it summarizes the magnetic leakage signal intensity and the defects of corresponding relationship between each parameter, while it analyses effect of the base material, the detection speed and measured environmental factors on magnetic flux leakage testing for tank floor.On the other hand, this paper systematically introduces overall structure of the tank leakage magnetic detection system, which focuses on the magnetic flux leakage testing instrument technical parameters, the selection of sensor, data acquisition software and so on. Among this paper, it studies the feasibility of tank bottom in detail, and writes the procedure step of tank bottom corrosion defect magnetic flux leakage inspection, so that the tank bottom leakage magnet detection technology can be more perfect and standardize.In the help of the China Special Equipment Inspection Institute, through the use of tank bottom leakage tester FloormapVS2i field test, the measured results with the actual example of original parameters are basically the same, which confirmed the feasibility of the using of magnetic flux leakage testing of tank bottom corrosion of defects. Magnetic flux leakage detection technique has fast speed, high efficiency, and it is convenient and reliable. As the oil storage and transportation base of scientific management, the research of this technology has broad application scenarios.
