With China’s rapid economic development and people’s living standardsimproved, more and more people buy cars, and this led to the vigorous developmentof China’s automotive industry. At the same time, China’s automobile industry isfacing enormous challenges. The people’s demand for vehicle safety, economy,aesthetics and other performance indicators become increasingly high. From thecar’s safety and aesthetics, Automobile panels account for a large proportion. Vehiclestampings accounted for70%of motor vehicle parts. Therefore, reducing the cost ofstamping parts is an important way to reduce the cost of vehicles.The main way to produce stampings is molding. Traditional mold design andprocessing rely on the experience of the designer and producers. The molds whichachieved the desired effect rely on constantly test and constantly adjust. This waste alot of time and manpower. This can not meet the rapid motorcycle type replacementrequirements and can not quickly respond to the market reaction. The other hand, thedesign may presence a lot of problems, because the designers are short ofexperiences. It will inevitably increase the cost of the post-test mode, if We did notfind the problems. Designers is facing a huge test form the great automobile panels.Just due to above-mentioned factors, simulation of material forming isparticularly important. Simulation of material forming can provide objective andaccurate theoretical data for designer and reduce the unnecessary mistakes in designat the same time, this reduce difficulties of trying and recomposing the mold. In this way we can short the process-cycle of mould and reduce the cost of mould.Sheet metal forming simulation software simulate sheet metal formingconditions by theoretical calculations, We simulate the left/right Side-frame innerpanel of automobile by AUTOFORM software. In the simulation process, we obtainthe best stamping forming conditions through analyzing forming result andoptimizing the blank-holder force and drawbead.The automobile panel’s main simulation process is as follow. First, it isdetermined that two automobile panels form together each time based on theforming difficulty, molding process and the cost. And then, determine the shape ofits sheet metal and drawing direction, the BHF, and the drawbead’s degree, structureand the distribution by experiment. Finally, the ideal simulation results is that theBHF is800KN and the two drawbeads which distributed as the paper’s descriptionare used.
