Iodine is the basic raw material of chemical production, which has ahigh economic value. Enrichment and recovery of iodine from brine hasmore resource-rich advantage and lower operating costs. It can alleviatethe shortage of domestic iodine market, but also facilitate thecomprehensive utilization of brine resources. So it will be the trend ofiodine industrial development in the future. In this thesis, we studied the enrichment and recovery technology oftrace iodine from brine. Thiocyanate iron-acid catalytic kinetic methodwas used as the basic determination method of trace iodine in brine. Theresults showed that the iodine content is2~18μg/L, which are inconsistent with the Lambert-Beer law. In addition, the linear regressioncoefficient was0.998, standard deviation was0.02288. Using thisanalysis method, we detected the iodine sample from a salt chemicalfactory. The average concentration of iodine was1.23mg/L, which metthe determination requirements. The composite adsorbent adsorption method was used to removetrace iodine from brine. In the laboratory stage, we inspected each kind of influencing factors such as composite adsorbent install column formula, airspeed, acidification pH, the oxidant dosage, oxidization time andoptimized experimental conditions. Transforming the achievement oflaboratory into the experimental pilot design, we obtained theexperimental the best enlargement treatment conditions. According to theprocess and principles of extrication iodine, we developed a newenrichment and recovery process, then the average enrichment rate wasup to90%.The main advantages of this enrichment and recovery technology areas follow: adsorbent has a great amount of saturated adsorption, a longoperation cycle and more convenient adsorbent regeneration, adsorbediodine is also easy to recover; it had no bad effect on other activeingredient content in the brine, no impurities are introduced into thebrine, and adding treatment agent has no residues. This techniqueoperates at normal temperature and pressure, which is both safe andreliable, with low energy consumption and operating costs, and does notproduce any waste.
