In this paper, a new screening equipment of new type elliptic thickness screen, which can realize the ideal movement of screen surface, was put forward and designed after seeking the rational way to vibrating screen structure. To some extent, all are based on the analysis of the advantages of elliptic vibrating screen track and thickness screening principle.The paper introduces the basic structure of new type elliptic thickness screen. By analyzing and researching on the dynamics and simulation of sieve surface trajectory, it is confirmed that movement trajectory of new type elliptic thickness screen surface near the feeding section is elliptic and discharging section is rectilinear, as well as the amplitude in vertical direction to sieve surface is descending along the length direction to screen surface. At the same time, the theory research on screen surface material movement shows that material movement speed on sieve surface is diminishing from feeding to discharging place. Thus screen deck can realize ideal movement.It is revealed that different aerosol propellant strength exits in each section of new type elliptic thickness screen deck. Therefore, it has the thickness screening characteristic.Experimental prototype has been designed in laboratory. And then test design has been finished by Minitab, and coal screening test has been done in prototype by the simulation of practical production. The best work parameters of sieve machine have been determined by experiment. What’s more, thickness screening principle of the screening machine has been verified, and the test results further prove the validity of the theoretical analysis.
