The terephthalic acid (TPA) type unsaturated polyester resin used in anchoring agent, of which was demanded high performance in compressive strength, the gel time and the thermal stability but less demands of color or transparency.,was prepared by the impurified TRA.The influences of the type of dicarboxylic acid and the proportion of alkyd on properties of the unsaturated polyester resin were investigated. This thesis includes the following main points:1. The influences of the types of dicarboxylic acid and unsaturated dicarboxylic acid on the performances of the unsaturated polyester resin were investigated Results showed that the ratio of fumarate and TPA effected compressive strength and the thermal stability at given ratio of glycol; when it only contains maleic anhydride unit, its compressive strength was lower than that including fumaric acid unit. Furthermore, when TPA was mixed with a certain amount of phthalic anhydride the compressive strength improved. As to the study of the synthesis process of TPA type unsaturated polyester resin, results show that:When the excess of alcohol was between5%-10%,its compressive strength was among63MPa to65MPa, the compressive strength was declined when the excess of alcohol was more than10%; however, if the feeding order of glycol was adjusted, that was means to add the glycol in the first step, the compressive strength was improved, the TPA also had a higher reaction rate.2.The unsaturated polyester resin was characterized by1H NMR, IR, relative molecular mass, and the thermal analysis. The’HNMR and IR results show the structure of the polymer was the same as expected, and the polymer molecular weight is between1000-1200, which is in the range of requirement.
