Based on fully mechanized top coal caving mining with great mining height in very thick coal seam,according to the complexity of mechanism and the diversity of influencing factors of rib palling, adopting field measurement,numerical simulation and theoretical analysis, the characteristics of and influencing factors with fully mechanized top coal caving mining with great mining height in very thick coal seam has been research. Results indicate that, the change from double peak to single peak in process of the reduce of distance from coal wall. With the increase of mining rate, the rate of rib palling and the depth of rib palling tends to decreases,and has the role of mintigation to rib palling with periodic weighting.Mining parameters can effect the mechanical characteristics of surrounding rock,then make effect with rib palling. Based on the typical geological condition, control measure has been made,through industrial test,it have achieved the double purpose of control of rib falling and high efficiency.The result show that the more of rib palling probability and degree. The research results give deep understand to the mechanical of rib palling and provide reference value for the deign of face parameters,the control of mining pressure and safety production.
