As the one of first-tier cities, Guangzhou has a rapid development speed and highpopulation density. Resulted from industrial development and increase of motor vehicles,Guangzhou has a lot of atmospheric pollution problem. In order to investigate the degree ofpollution of fine particles PM2.5and its organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon(EC) in Guangzhou, this dissertation is focused on the levels of concentration of fine particles PM2.5and its OC and EC basedon samples from monitoring spots with height of70meters in meteorological bureau of Guangdongprovince, from December,2010to November,2011. In this study, mass concentration of fine particulatePM2.5aerosol samples is monitored by resolution of0.1μg precision balance analysis in a constanttemperature and humidity conditions. Mass concentrations of OC and EC are analyzed by the EC and OCAnalyzer with thermo optical transmission. The conclusions as follow:Monitoring results of mass concentration of fine particulate PM2.5showed that, compared with thenew air quality standards, average mass concentration of fine particulate PM2.5of this year in Guangzhou ishigher. The maximum and the minimum daily concentration were appeared in December and June, they are249%and15%times than value of the new air quality standards. The highest average concentration of fine particles PM2.5is in winter, and the lowest is in summer, secondly in spring and thirdly in autumn. According to the new air quality standards, the exceeded rate ofthe average value are nearly46.67%、20%in winder and spring, and they are below the standards insummer and autumn.Monitoring results of mass concentration of OC and EC in fine particulate PM2.5showed that, themass concentration of OC and EC have a similar variation rule with fine particulate PM2.5and the variationof amplitude of EC is smaller than OC. The average concentration of OC and EC accounted for23.44%and3.80%of concentration of fine particulate PM2.5, total accounting for27.24%.1. The analysis results of TC, OC and EC in haze days and normal days showed that, concentrations ofTC, OC and EC are different in haze days and normal days. All of them are higher in haze days than that innormal days. The OC/EC ratios in winter exceeded2, also the ratio become low when raining. The results showed that fine particulate PM2.5is polluted serious in Guangzhou, especially in winter. The high loadings of carbonaceous aerosol are observed and the presence of secondary organic aerosol inGuangzhou. Precipitation was more effective for OC scavenging than for EC. Compared normal days, haze days have more accumulation of pollutants.
