With the improvement of economy and the living standard, environmental pollution hasattracted more and more attention, in which chlorobenzene released from industry is one ofthe most important environmental pollutions. Therefore, it is of key important to changechlorobenzene into benzene through dechlorination reaction, which it is, however, verydifficult to carry out it without catalyst due to its required high temperature and pressure. Thisthesis focuses on the synthesis of novel Pd nanomaterials that were loaded through usingdifferent carbon materials. These composite nanomaterials as catalysts were used to performthe dechlorination reaction of chlorobenzene. The major results of the thesis are as follow:1. Hollow silver/palladium (Ag/Pd) nanocubes were synthesized by galvanicreplacement reaction of silver nanocubes as template. The as-prepared nanomaterials weremixed with unzipping carbon nanotubes (UCNTs), reducing unzipping carbon nanotubes(RUCNTs), and carbon nanotubes (CNTs), respectively. The catalysts were used to catalyzethe dechlorination reaction of chlorobenzene. TEM measurement indicates that theAg/Pd-UCNTs have the best monodispersed, the following is Ag/Pd-RUCNTs, and theAg/Pd-CNTs are the worst. Moreover, gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC/MS)measurement reveals that the Ag/Pd-UCNTs are the best for catalyzing the dechlorinationreaction of chlorobenzene, followed by the Ag/Pd-RUCNTs, and the Ag/Pd-CNTs are theworst.2. The Pd nanomaterials containing UCNTs were fabricated through reducing the Pd2+complexing with EDTA under different pH values. TEM characterization reveals that thePd/UCNTs with the smallest sizes have the most excellent monodispersity. When the solutionpH values are wore far from12(more or less12), their monodispersities are worse. Moreover,GC/MS measurement reveals that the Pd-UCNTs prepared using the pH value of12are thebest for catalyzing the dechlorination reaction of chlorobenzene.
