In this paper, our experimentations were made up of two parts. The first part,size-tunable Y2O3:Eu3+flower aggregates constructed from nanotubes were obtainedthrough rolling up Y(OH)CO3:Eu3+nanosheets under template-free hydrothermalconditions at200℃for2h, followed by an annealing process. Y(CH3COO)3and Eu(CH3COO)3was used as a raw material for the preparation of Y(OH)CO3precursorsthrough urea precipitation. The absorbed CH3COOions play an important role in theformation of nanosheets structures and PEG keeps the precursors monodisperse anduniform. Through decreasing the concentration of Y(CH3COO)3, smaller Y(OH)CO3:Eu3+flower assemblies of fewer nanotubes and homogeneously separatedY(OH)CO3:Eu3+nanotubes with the length of~150nm and the diameter of~25nm and monodisperse~30nm Y(OH)CO3nanospheres, respectively, were alsoselectively prepared. After calcination at600℃for2h, the Y(OH)CO3weredecomposed into Y2O3and the tubular structures were maintained. Under UVexcitation, Y2O3:0.05Eu3+flower-like and spherical samples show strong red emission,corresponding to the characteristic lines of Eu3+.The second part, Uniform Y2O3:Eu3+nanorods and nanosheets were controllablysynthesized via NaOH as precipitation. Then, the nanosheets and nanorods wereobtained via a facile hydrothermal synthetic method using yttrium chloride andyttrium acetate as the yttrium source. During these experiments NaOH were used asprecipitators and added in correct order. We also studied the spectroscopic propertiesof Y2O3:Eu3+phosphor. The Eu3+ion mainly shows its characteristic red (611nm,5D0â†'7F2) emissions in both kinds of morphologies Y2O3:Eu3+phosphor, but emissionintensity are different.
