The micro-earthquake is one of the dynamic phenomena in the process of mining, whichwill affect mining strata structure then cause instability and failure. It is one of the mostimportant natural disasters that influence safe production of mines. If the micro-earthquakehappens, it can affect the normal production and cause a lot of losses in people and property.With the development of the mining, most of the mines go into the deep mining condition, theprobability of earthquake will greatly increase and the cause of casualties and property loss willalso increase further. Through monitoring the underground seismic signals, we can know thearea and degree of the underground rock rupture. What’s more, it can help to delineate hazardzone providing powerful evidence and safety production for mine safety monitoring andensuring the safety. Therefore designing and developing a set of safety and effective seismicmonitoring system becomes a urgent issue to solve and research.This paper introduces the application and research situation at home and abroad of themicro-seismic monitoring technology in the field of mine safety monitoring. Also introduced thevirtual instrument profiles, and virtual instrument technology is described in detail. Combined ofsoftware technology and hardware technology, using the virtual instrument technology toestablish a micro-seismic monitoring system. Using the Zinc mine in Xitie mountain as anexample, studies the sensor arrangement, acquisition card selection, acquisition frequency rangeof settings and parameters optimization and selection, compiling a matching safety monitoringsoftware based on virtual instrument of LabVIEW, Using the micro-seismic monitoring data formonitoring remote capture and waveform analysis, achieving high-speed data storage, remotecontrol, filtering, and spectrum analysis, print and so on. The system software which is use theLabVIEW has very good scalability, this is the perfect system for development and design of agood platform to give full play of the virtual instruments, all sorts of data and informationanalysis provides convenient, and effectively improve the collection efficiency,and give theestablishment of intelligent, automation and networking of the micro seismic monitoring andanalysis system for adequate theoretical and practical preparation.
