During the ocean mining process, the whole system endure complex loads suchas ocean environment, various equipment weight, buoyancy and pressure etc,meanwhile is affected by the motion of mining vessel and submarine collector. Thedynamic responses of lifting pipeline system are very complex, so is the motor pump.First, based on Chinese1000m ocean poly-metallic pilot mining system, weprove the useful of the multi-rigid-body discrete element method building the spacediscrete model of mining pipe system. Second, on the based of multi-body dynamicsand using the Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems (ADAMS), thediscrete model of mining pipe system is built and the dynamic analysis of the motorpump of Chinese ocean poly-metallic pilot mining system is performed. Last, themotor pump equipment is to be analyzed stress and checked strength.The main research includes:1. The deep-ocean mining system is under the action of complex oceanenvironment including wind, wave, current and so on. According to the characteristicsof the deep-ocean mining system, environment forces acting on the deep-oceanmining pipe are calculated by Morison equation.2. In consideration of the long pipe geometrical nonlinear characteristics oflarge displacement, a discrete element method is proposed for the dynamics analysisof long mining pipe. Then several typical examples are selected to verify thecorrectness and prove the useful of discrete element method.3. On the bases of boundary and force condition and modeling technique forlong mining pipe discussed above, ADAMS is proposed to built the space discretemodel of Chinese1000m ocean poly-metallic pilot mining system, and the dynamicscharacteristics of several typical working condition of the motor pump is alsoanalyzed.4. According to the load results of several typical working condition of themotor pump of mining system provided by chapter5, the finite element software(ABAQUS) is proposed to analyse the pump’s stress and check the strength of it. Theresults show that the pump meets the required strength.The results of dynamic analysis, stress analysis and strength checking of themotor pump in this paper would provide the theoretical basis to the design of motor pump of the deep sea mining system.
