Welding, as a way to achieve a permanent connection between materials, has been widely used in various fields of modern industrial production, which is indispensable in manufacturing industry. The swing of welding stick during the welding process, can improve the welding efficiency, increase the weld width, and lower weld layer thickness. For the narrow gap and deep seam welding, it is will be easy a weld to implement multi-channel and multi-layer welding and help to improve the mechanical properties of weld metal. At the same time, it has practical significance of improving the uneven width of the weld and enhancing aesthetics of weld surface. This work is to study the swing mode of narrow gap submerged arc welding, swing mechanism and control system design.This paper makes a systematic study welding environment of narrow gap submerged arc welding and swing stick model during the welding process to understand the role of the swing of welding stick in narrow gap submerged arc welding; then based on the structure and function of Wire oscillating in the market, we design a swing equipment which is completely fit for narrow gap submerged arc welding, we design a swing equipment which is completely fit for narrow gap submerged arc welding, required to achieve the horizontal swing and vertical movement welding torch for welding wire; finally based on the detailed workflow of welding stick swing system of narrow gap submerged arc welding, we complete Wire oscillating mechanical mechanism, control system hardware circuit design and control software design.In the Wire oscillating mechanical part, this paper mainly complete the Wire oscillating, lifting mechanism, fixed clamping mechanism and some other auxiliary structures design which found the base for the control system design; in the part of control system hardware circuit design, it mainly complete the design of the minimum system of controller, power modules, LCD, keyboard, Wire Oscillation servo drive system schematic and PCB; the system software design is mainly under the environment of in MPLAB-IDE, using the MPLAB C30compiler for programming and debugging for each module. This paper completes the design of programming for the scan of keyboard, LCD, CAN trunk communication and Wire Oscillation; at the same time, in order to improve the stability of the entire system, this paper adopt measures in hardware design and software which strengthens the ability of system’s anti-jamming and improves the reliability of the system.In the end, this paper, under the MPLAB-IDE, debugs and simulates the C Programming Language. And using Panasonic software PANATERM, this paper debugs and simulates motor and drive system, whose results show that the system can achieve the control of the swing mechanism and the lifting mechanism, and adjust system swing speed, amplitude, and residence time according to the input data. And the control system is reliable to meet the process requirements. The results show that the welding swing system design of narrow gap submerged arc welding satisfy the requirements of the study and lay a good foundation for the future design of narrow gap submerged arc welding.
