Glucoses and N-alkylamine were used as the main materials to prepare a series ofN-alkylamino-deoxyglucoses which were respectively N-butylamino-deoxyglucoses(NBAD), N-octylamino-deoxyglucoses (NOAD) and N-laurylamino-deoxyglucoses(NLAD). Their structures were confirmed by FTIR and H1NMR. The surface tention ofthem were determined by means of the pendant-drop method.Glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) and acrylic acid (AA) were respectively grafted ontothe surface of polypropylene nonwoven fabrics (PPNWF) after plasma pretreated byUV-induced. N-butylamino (NBA), N-octylamino (NOA) and N-laurylamino (NLA) werechemically immobilized to PPNWF-g-GMA, and PPNWF-g-GMA-NBA, PPNWF-g-GMA–NOA and PPNWF-g-GMA-NLA which were immobilized by N-alkylamine were preparedrespectively. The N-alkylamino-deoxyglucoses (NBAD, NOAD, NLAD) were chemicallyimmobilized to the surface of PPNWF-g-GMA and PPNWF-g-AA, and two series of modifiedPPNWFwhich were immobilized by N-alkylamino-deoxyglucoses were obtained. Thesurface chemical changes before and after modification were confirmed by attenuated totalreflectance Fourier transfer infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectronspectroscopy (XPS). the protein adsorption was measured by BCA and the situation ofplatelets adhesion was observed by SEM.1) After N-alkylamines was immobilized onto the surface of the PPNWF-g-GMA, theamount of protein adsorption and the numbers of platelets adhesion increased, and itindicated that the immobilization of N-alkylamines were procoagulant.2) Grafting of GMA can decrease the amount of protein adsorption and the numbersplatelets adhesion on the surface of PPNWFslightly. After the immobilization ofN-alkylamino-deoxyglucoses, PPNWF-g-GMA-NBAD obviously promoted proteinadsorption and platelets adhesion, but PPNWF-g-GMA-NOAD and PPNWF-g-GMA-NLADdecreased the protein adsorption and platelets adhesion significantly.Grafting of AA can decrease the protein adsorption and platelets adhesion on the surface of PPNWF, and the immobilization of NOAD can decrease the protein adsorptionand platelets adhesion even further. The immobilization of NLAD can keep prototype ofplatelets. However, the immobilization of NBAD can increase the protein adsorption andthe platelets adhesion seriously.
