For stripping lean methane of coal seam gas, this subject preparedcatalysts which used silicon carbide as the supporter, loading noblemetal/non-nobel metal active ingredient for lean methane. Made surethe optimal catalyst preparation, operating conditions and comparedwith other catalysts with different supporter, such as cordierite. In thesame time, catalytic process mechanism would be discussed withcharacterization. The optimal catalysts which were suitable for mehanecatalytic combustion technology would be obtained comprehensively.Pd/γ-Al2O3/SiC with different loading had been prepared bythermal desorption method, the experiment results showed that0.1%Pdperformance was good. The second component was imported, and theresult showed that0.1%Pd-4%Co was perfect. Based on the existingtechnology, catalytics were prepared with doping Ce, Zr, La Y asadjuvants,1%La2O3/0.1%Pd-4.0%Co/γ-Al2O3/SiC which were used tomehane catalytic combustion showed the superior catalyticperformance with high methane conversion. XPS results showed Pd0peak area was larger than PdO`s with La.Preparation methods, loading, types of additives were investigated for catalysts with non-nobel metal active ingredient and silicon carbideas the supporter. The results showed the performance of2%ZrO2/12%Cu-Mn/γ-Al2O3/SiC with immersion loading method wasexcellent. TPR showed reduction peak temperature was222℃; XPSshowed lattice oxygen/O1s was75.2%, and that means lattice oxygenwas main form which was active for reaction.The comparison result of different supporter SiC and CORshowed SiC monolithic catalysts was better in the same condition.After adding adjuvants which could inhancing affect among activecomponent adjuvants and supporters, lattice oxygen in SiC surface wasmore,2%ZrO2/12%Cu-Mn/γ-Al2O3/SiC was best.
