Natural gas has some advantages as high efficiency, cleanness andconvenient to use. Natural gas often accompanied by sour gas (H2S, CO2)when exploited from natural gas field, in which H2S has devastatingeffects on human health, plumbing and ecological environment, however,after treatment and recovery as sulfur, could ease the domestic sulfurdemand gap, so study of desulfurization of natural gas both benefit onenvironment and economic.In laboratorial condition, H2S was absorbed from its gas mixture(N2,CO2and H2S)separately by aqueous solutions of hindered TBEE(2-tertiarybutylamino-2-ethoxyethanol) and MDEA (N-methyldiethanolamine) in the rotating packed bed, removal efficiency and selectivityfactor were taken as the evaluation standards for the effect of rotatingspeed, alcohol amine concentration, solutions inflow speed, temperatureon the performance of TBEE,identify the appropriate process underlaboratory conditions. In high pressure condition at PuGuang natural gasfield, verify the rotating packed bed operating performace under high pressure, study theeffect of the gas, liquid volume, speed and otherfactors on the desulfurization, mixed amine and MDEA are compared toremove H2S from natural gas in rotating packed bed, rotating packed bedand packed column were also compared as desulfurization process.The results show that: In laboratory conditions, the desulfurizationrate and selectivity of TBEE were higher than MDEA in the H2Sabsorbing process which means TBEE had advantages in desulfurization.High mass fraction of TBEE and liquid flow rate were benefit fordesulfurization rate, however, they worked opposite on selectivity.Rotating speed and flow rate of gas/liquid also impacted performance ofselective absorption of H2S; Under the condition of feed gas flow was1.2m3/h with concentration of H2S0.8%, the optimum operatingconditions are: mass fraction of TBEE was5%, rotating speed was1200r/min, flow rate of gas/liquid was200. At this time, the desulfurizationrate was above99%, and the selectivity could generally reach2528.In high pressure conditions, the rotating packed bed could safe torun by overcome problems of dynamic seal and dynamic balance, flowrate of gas/liquid is the most fsctor on the selective desulfurization, whichis consistent with laboratory rules, mixed amine has the samedesulfurization rate as MDEA, but selectivity desulfurization lower theMDEA, compared with the packed tower, rotating packed bed hadmany advantages, include smaller size, simple operation. By further improve the process,rotating packed bed has outstanding applicationprospects in the northeastern Sichuan gas field better.
