AgBiS2, Cu3BiS3and Bi2S3semiconductors are widely used in thermodynamic, electrochemical and photochemical areas because of their unique physical/chemical properties. Meanwhile, using of templates, especially biological templates to control the size or morphology of materials in process of synthesis have been developed extensively. Therefore, the aims of works in this paper focus on controlling of morphologies, sizes and properties of AgBiS2, Cu3BiS3and Bi2S3by using different templates. The main research contents are as follows:AgBiS2and Cu3BiS3crystallites were synthesized by using soybean, dncichine, latex rubber, chlorophyll and hypocrellins as templates. Bi2S3crystallites were synthesized, via a facile solvent-thermal process. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and N2adsorption/desorption measurment. The results showed that all of the crystallites are pure. It is interesting that the as-synthesized samples have different morphologies of graininess, star-shaped, snow-like and so on.AgBiS2and Cu3BiS3crystallites were used as the catalysts for the oxidative coupling of n-butylmercaptan. The effects of catalyst concentration amount, reaction time and reaction temperature on conversion rates and selectivities were investigated. Comparing with Cu3BiS3crystallites, AgBiS2crystallites exhibited a higher catalytic activity for oxidative coupling of n-butyl mercaptan. The effects of catalyst morphologies on polymerization of octadecylsilane were also investigated. It was found that templates had not only controlled the morphologies of the crystallites, but also influenced the products of polymerizations. The thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC) results show that the products of polymarization catalyzed by crystallites with different morphorogies have different decomposition temperatures.Materials with different morphorogies were also engaged in antibacterial experiments. It was found that the crystallites with rod-like, sonw-like and spiny morphologies showed antibacterial activities without light irradiation. While Degussa P25TiO2exhibited stong inhibition on the bacterial growth under sunlight, which was not observed in the dark.A series of absorbents were prepared by using reed as a biotemplate and the morphology of the template was perfectly replicated. The adsorption experiments showed that the maximun adsorption amount of dye was achieved when the treatment temperature was400℃.
