As the progress of the society and development of the scientific technology, environmental pollutionand ecological destruction have received a great deal of attention. Heavy metal pollution has caused moreand more serious environmental problem in the fields. Therefore, heavy metal pollution estimation is ofgreat important. Heavy metals in environmental samples have several properties such as low concentration,high toxicity, and severe matrix interference, etc. As a result, a separation-and-enrichment pre-treatment ofthe metal ions in the samples is always essential in the estimation. Thus, an effective simple pre-treatmenttechnology has become a promising hot spot in modern environmental monitoring.Solid phase extraction technique is a enrichment and separation method, which developed rapidly inrecent years and offers good prospects of application in pretreatment of environmental samples containedheavy metal ions. Its property mostly determined by solid phase extractant. Solid phase extractantembodied in silica gel have following features. Such as good mechanical strength, not bibulous and causingself-expansion, withstand high heat, high recycling efficiency and so on. So they are developed and usedextensively. Silica gel functionalized bonding with organo functional groups is jointing analysis functionalgroups with the surface of silica gel by chemical bonding, replacing silanol on the surface of silica gel,making silica gel possess better selective adsorption efficiency. In this paper, silica gel bonded with alizarinbordeaux complex reagents and silica gel bonded with3,5-two nitro salicylic acid were prepared.Enrichment and separation ability of modified gel to a variety of heavy metal ions was studiedsystematically. Besides, we applying it in the practical sample analysis.The full text altogether divides intofour parts:Chapter1, development of SPE technique,surface modification of silica gel heavy metal ionsseparation and enrichment by using silica gel matrix solid phase extraction agent,application of typeorganic reagents in chemical bonded silica synthesis, the development and application prospect of chemicalbonds and silica solid phase extraction agent are introduced.
