The development of beverage packaging industry is introduced in this article first, and the feature of continues compressing mold (CCM) of plastic closures is elaborated further. The view is come on that the CCM is the trend in the nurture. On this basis, compression mold of plastic closures is discussed that the gap of CCM between local and foreign is the choice of proper material,heat treatment, special surface manufacturing, highly precision grinding, these are the problem we are ready to solve.The research is on the basis of the project<High-speed compression mold of plastic closures with tamper-evident bands>, In this article, complete sets of CCM is designed, then the typical part-"core" is selected to set up its whole process. In this process, several key problem are discussed and tested, including how to choose the appropriate material set up proper heat treatment process, how to machine thread surface highly effective, how to control the precision in internal grinding.By analyzing the working conditions and structure of "core", we choose the powder metallurgy materials as the raw materials. The appropriate hot treatment process and machining process are put forward to insure the precision of part. The improvement is applied in hot treatment, eliminating the Residual stress to insure the Stability of part.For the thread machining in the process of core, we set up two methods:free-form surface ball-cutter machining tested on5axis machining center DMU60and the method of the common cutters’deflection tested on the mill-turn center GMX250linear. Comparing two methods, the new machining plan and process of this part on common cutters’deflection were presented. As a result, the thread machining accuracy and efficiency were improved, the cost was reduced.For the internal grinding in the process of core, based on the experiments operated on the universal cylindrical grinding machine S40, we choose CBN grinding wheel as the research tool. The high-precision internal grinding process of Special powder metallurgy materials is studied in detail by the orthogonal experiment. The effect of grinding parameters such as wheel velocity, grinding depth of grinding wheel, federate as well as surface roughness analyzed. The parameter optimization project for special material is put forward based on the above analysis. It turns out that to get a lower surface roughness and grinding force there is a proper range of work piece velocity and federate for the material.The research findings of this thesis means much to solve the typical problem occurred in the process of plastic closures mold, enhance the level of manufacturing on compression mold of plastic closures.
