Chengchao Iron Mine of Wuhan Iron and Steal (Group) Corp. is typical in application ofsublevel caving method. After years of mining production, with stope structure parameters beingexpanded and optimized continually, mining efficiency and production capacity have beengreatly improved. However, as underground mining continually, the production potential needsfurther excavation. So it’s necessary to enhance the study of law of ore drawing in stopes withlarge structural parameters to guidance stope structure parameters optimization, which is verysignificant for further reducing stoping loss rate and improving recovery rate.Combined with the actual stope situation in Chengchao Iron Mine, this paper studies thelaw of ore drawing in stopes to seek reasonable structure parameters of ore drawing, especiallythe optimization of drawing pace. Consequently, it is reasonable parameters of medium-lengthhole blasting and stoping scheme that can be determined to improve ore recovery, lowerproduction costs, and contribute to stability of production. In order to achieve the study purpose,this paper does work as following:First of all, it studies ore drawing theory and analyzes physical properties and flowcharacteristics of ore-rocks which are caved with sublevel caving method, to identify the factorsaffecting the recovery efficiency of ore drawing. Secondly, through physical similar simulationexperiment in lab, for stope structure parameters, orthogonal experiment is carried out tosimulate ore drawing. And according to the simulation of granular particles moving process; thelaw of caved ore-rocks is explored. Then combined with the actual stope situation in ChengchaoIron Mine, PFC software is applied for three-dimensional numerical simulation of ore drawing,and stope structure parameters are optimized. At last, it comprehensively analyzes the results ofphysical similarity simulation experiment in lab and computer numerical simulation, andcombined with the actual production practice, gives the measures recommended to increasecurrent drawing pace. As a result, the stope ore recovery rate rises and ore losses and waste arereduced.
