In recent years, the customers have increasingly demands for the specifications,variety, quality of steel plate with the development of science and technology and automation inworkpiece machining process.Take measures to improve the quality of the plate has becomethe matter which the producer urgently need to solve.Roller straightener is the importantequipment which improves the product quality,It can effectively eliminate the residual stress ofthe plate, ensure the plate flatness. The paper takes the11-roller type straightening machine ofstraightening line in a hot-rolled plant as the object of study,according to the problem of lowprecision and narrow coverage in product specifications when it straightens high strength plate,we create a reasonable model of straightening process based on the concept of virtual pivot.Then using the finite element analysis method to simulate the straightening process combiningwith the test data.The main contents of the paper are included below:1) The paper describes the working principle of the straightening machine andstraightening process and established a reasonable mechanical model of straightening processwith the concept of the virtual pivot point. Then the relationship between the reduction of eachwork roller and reverse bend curvature was derived from this model. At last,taking the residualcurvature as the judging criterion to find the optimal reduction.2) According to the structural parameters of11-roller type straightening machine, usingthe finite element software to establish the three-dimensional dynamic finite element model ofthe plate straightening process. Combination of the straightening machine condition to applyload, set the boundary conditions and initial conditions on the finite element mode. Then webegin to simulate the straightening process of high strength steel HG70,using the simulationresults to Calculate the entrance and exit straightening force and compared with the measuredvalues to test the accuracy of three-dimensional finite element model. We have focused on thestress during straightening, residual stress,flatness based on the dynamic analysis system3) We analyze residual stresses and flatness in different reduction based on thisstraightening machine finite element model. Then simulation of other product specifications bythis method to seek the optimal reduction rules.This paper establishes the roller type straightening process parameter model, simulation ofplate straightening process. This method provides an easy way to set and optimize processparameters of plate straightening machine, which overcame the shortcoming of traditionalmodel. It has a certain guiding significance to set the straightening process parameters and canhelp to improve the production quality of plate.
