Natural gas is a mixture of gases. It contains methane, ethane, propane andother hydrocarbons, and nitrogen, carbon dioxide and other non-hydrocarboncomponents. Because the composition of natural gas is difference, the same volume ofgas generated energy is different. For the vast majority of our country is still using thevolume measurement, the paper presents the method of natural gas energymeasurement. The main work is as follows:Firstly, the method of natural gas energy measurement was studied, theimportant parameters of energy measurement, including natural gas calorific valuesand the standard state volume was respectively calculated and studied. Secondly thetwo mixed different gas composition conditions of gas source was simulation.According to the requirement of FLUENT set various parameters of natural gas,simulation model is established and simulation result was analyzed, providing thebasis for gas chromatography the key equipment for the energy measurement isdistribution. Thirdly, natural gas energy measurement system software and hardwarewas designed according to energy measurement requirement. Natural gas energymeasurement system was established based on natural gas internal fiber-opticNetwork or GPRS. The volume flow, component data, pressure, temperature andother parameters was read simultaneously in this system. Natural gas energy wascalculated through the internal core software according to the method of natural gasenergy measurement. The system of analysis and calculation of uncertainty, theresults showed that the uncertainty of energy measurement could be reached1%.Finally, the result of test shows the system easy to operate, and can load the volumeflow, component data, pressure, temperature and other parameters steadily.Currently in our country in this area of research is still relatively small. However,natural gas international trade and the extensive use of natural gas, making thedemand of energy measurement is increased. Therefore, research on key technologyof Natural gas energy measurement has important practical significance and somepractical value.
