The solar energy is one of the best ways to solve the energy crisis, so solar cellhave attracted much attention during the recently few years.Dye sensitized solar cells(DSSC) have the preparation of large area, efficient, low production cost and at themolecular level can be designed, which have been recognized by the researchers. Thedye-sensitizer will directly influence the performance of the battery photoelectricefficiency, The main characteristics of dye-sensitizer are as follows:1.dye-sensitizershould have a broad and strong absorption in the range of visible light;2.Thedye-sensitizer should have ability of interracial charge exchange betweendye-sensitizer and semiconducting solids;3.The dye-sensitezer should have somefunctional groups that can make dye-sensitizer attach firmly on Ti02surface.Atpresent metal ruthenium complexes dye is recognized as the most effective and stabledye-sensitizer.In this dissertation, focusing on the essential the synthesis of sensitized dyes forsolar cells, that meet the development trend. First, synthesis of [cis-Ru(tpy)(bpy)OH2](NO3)2from bipyridine; second, synthesis of [Ru(bpy)2L]2+, L=(4,4’-(CH2PO3Et2)2-2,2’-bpy) and [Ru(bpy)2L]2+, L=(4,4’-(PO3Et2)2-2,2’-bpy), their have similar struc-ture but different synthesis process. The preparation process of final products foundthat the reaction conditions in dark, without water, N2atmosphere and hightemperature could get high yield. The preparation of different types of bipyridine derivatives as dye sensitizationligand. The structures of dye-sensitizer were characterized by nuclear magneticresonance (NMR); UV-visible absorption found that had the wide range of absorptionand high intensity in the visible. It can compare to their maximum absorptionwavelength and find out the influence of molecular dyes spectral response range ofimportant factors, which will provide favorable reference.
