Natural gas hydrate is the ice-like crystal enveloped shape solid state compound that forms when natural gas molecules contact water molecules under certain temperature and pressure.Hydrate is considered to be harmful because it may result in the blockage in pipeline,equipment, valve and meter, thus endanger the petroleum and natural gas industry.So it is great meaningful to predict its forming location and prevent the problem that caused by the natural gas hydrate.At the beginning,this paper discribes the development of predicting the natural gas hydrate formation both at home and abroad,and discusses the physical characteristics and formation mechanism of natural gas hydrate.Then,the mathematical model of predicting the beginning location of natural gas hydrate formation and its calculation method has been formulated based on hydrodynamics,chemical engineering thermodynamics and numerical analysis.By this model,the thermodynamic properties such as pressure,temperature and density of natural gas along the pipeline can be calculated under the pretext of knowing the compositon and the threshold pressure and temperature,thus the beginning location of natural gas hydrate formation in pipeline can be identified. Last, the mathematical model is proved by several concrete examples,and the result shows that the mathematical model is accurate and reliable,so it can offer necessary technical support to the prevention of natural gas hydrate. |
