The lower parts of Triassic reservoir in Tahe Oil Field9thdistrict is a typical block, which has rapid water-cut increase and quick production rate decline. It is now in themid-high water cut stage and need development strategy adjustment. Its productioncharacteristic is daily oil production declining, water cut rising. It faces the developmentproblems of unobvious water plugging effect, difficulty in control water cut and maintainoil production. Horizontal wells are so wide spread in the block, and weights largeproportion in production contribution. So enhancing horizontal well production is quiteimportant for maintaining capability in the block. The experiment of horizontal well for enhancing oil production and recovery ratiobegan in the late20thof last century. With progress of science and technology and boomingenergy demand, horizontal well technology developed rapidly, and the productiontechnology has become one of the most important contents of nowadays petroleum industryadvancement in the world. The study on drilling and producing technology is more thanflowing in the wellbore, so it is very essential to study on the flowing mechanics fordevelopment of horizontal well.Reservoir numerical simulation is a mature technology for the quantitative descriptionand visualization of remaining oil distribution. It can determine the three-dimensionaldistribution and rich area of remaining oil. It is also the most useful way to optimize variousparameters of horizontal well. Traditional method simulates horizontal well by multivertical wells or horizontal section. Multi-segment simulation can couple the horizontalwell and reservoir, and describe fluid flow characteristic of horizontal segment accurately, while taking energy loss into consideration. So multi-segment can make more accuratedescription and simulation on horizontal well. Firstly, this paper made study on Porous flow rule of horizontal well, includingseepage field distribution, productivity formula, three-dimensional oil-water two phasesmathematical model of spheroid porous flow, pressure drop characteristic of horizontalsegment, and horizontal well model in bottom-water reservoir. Secondly, it illustrated thefundamentals of multi-segment simulation, geologic conceptual model is built to verify.According to the reservoir numerical simulation result,it analyzed remaining oil distributionand water production rules of the bottom-water reservoir, which would provide foundationfor further water plugging measures.
