Plant cell culture is an effective technology to produce active secondary metabolites. However, low productivity blocked its developing. Adding elicitors is the most effective way to enhance the production in plant cell cultures.This thesis firstly used DHPJA and TFEJA to induce the synthesis of resveratrol (Res) in Vitis vinifera suspension cultures. The commercialized MeJA was also used. The optimal condition was150μM of elicitors added on day15. DHPJA was better than the other two, with weaker growth inhibition but stronger Res production induction. In addition, DHPJA induced stronger plant defense responses, including oxidative burst and activation of L-phenylalanine ammonialyase (PAL). H2O2generation induced by DHPJA played a significant role in enhancing Res accumulation. Adding a specific inhibitor of H2O2signaling pathway inhibited DHPJA-induced Res accumulation, but had no effects on DHPJA-induced other metabolites accumulation, which resulted in regulations of product diversity. This work provided a new theoretical basis for the strategy optimization of enhancing resveratrol production.This thesis aslo compared the effects of MeJA, DHPJA and TFEJA on cell growth and ginsenoside Rb1, Rb2, Re, Rd, Re and Rgl accumulation in Panax ginseng C. A. Mey suspension cultures. The optimal elicitation time was found to be7day. With the same elicitation dosage, TFEJA induced highest level of ginsenosides content, followed by DHPJA, both better than MeJA. They regulated diversity of ginsenosides by inducing higher level of panaxadiol saponins (Rb) than triol-type ginseng saponins (Rg). TFEJA induced highest level of Rb/Rg, followed by DHPJA. Among Rb group, DHPJA and TFEJA induced comparetivaly higher Re and Rd content than MeJA. This study laid the foundation for exploring the changes in mechanism of inducers with different structures.
