With the developments of industry and economy, environmental pollution is worsening from the global perspective. Photocatalytic degradation is the most effective way to solve this problem. Currently, as photocatalyst, ZnO is widely researched. This thesis aims to investigate the influence of the material modification (eg. increasing the specific surface area of ZnO nanomaterials, restraining the recombination of the electronics and the holes) on the optical and the photocatalytic properties of ZnO nanomaterials. The main contents were as following:(1)A simple hydrothermal process is proposed for the fabrication of ZnO nanobelts, and a secondary growth was carried to prepare ZnO nanowires on the ZnO nanobelts. Research shows that the specific surface area of the ZnO nanomaterial after secondary growth is significantly improve, and the photocatalytic activity is also enhanced.(2) Ag/Au nanoparticles were deposited grown on the surface of ZnO nanobelts through evaporation or UV irradiation reduction methods, the structure, the optical properties and the photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanomaterial after Ag, Au modified is researched. The tesults turn out that, the photocatalytic activity of ZnO nanobelts is enhanced after ZnO nanowires diauxic growth and Au, Ag deposition on. Thereinto, the photocatalytic activity of Au deposition on ZnO nanobelts is remarkable advanced than the other two procedures.
