With the development of Science and technology, machinery industry developsto high-speed, high-precision, and flexible automation. Especially in recent years, the vigorous development of the automotive industry greatly promote thedevelopment of forging equipment. As a category of forging machinery, mechanicalpress is widely used in industrial production. The stress and movement state of themechanical press will change as the speed and working environment change, so itrequires that the transmission system structure of this press must be optimal. In thedesign process, forging machinery dynamics performance is always adifficulty, and it must be overcome. The transmission system structure of multi-linkmechanical press is more complex than general mechanical press, so the dynamicsresearch for the multi-link mechanical press is particular important.Mechanical press is simplified into eight-link mechanism according to theprinciple of work of mechanical press in this paper, then the eight-link mechanismis split into two-level mechanism to facilitate the calculation. The equations ofmotion is simulated and calculated with analytical method, and the displacement, velocity and acceleration curve of the slider are got by solving these equations inMatlab. The advantages of multi-link press can be gained according to comparingwith the traditional press. Under the above movement relationship, the analysis offorce of the most critical guide pin is carried on in Matlab based on D’Alembertprinciple, then the minimum section area of the guide pin which is able to bear thework force is obtained; The model of the press is built in Pro/E, then this mode isimported into Adams to make force analysis of the guide pin to deeply verify thecorrectness of the above theoretical analysis method; At last, the displacementaccuracy caused by the error of Eight-link size is analyzed. This result can affordtheoretic basis for the production of mechanical press.
