Dishwashing detergent as one of the essential thing in daily life, it is mainly usedto wash the tableware, vegetables and fruits. People take for granted even dependenceof the dishwashing detergent, unwittingly ignoring its potential hazards. The main component of dishwashing detergent is by the formula composition ofsurfactants, solvents, flavors and pigments. However, in addition to theseingredients, dishwashing detergents also contain harmful elements such as arsenic andheavy metal elements like mercury, lead, cadmium, chromium, Arsenic compounds arehighly toxic and can damage the skin and eventually the development of skin cancer, arsenic accumulates in the body will increase the incidence of variety of visceral such asbladder, kidney, liver malignancies rate. The mercury will cause harm of central nervoussystem, and there will be some hereditary. Lead is the only trace elements a body doesnot need, it will accumulate in the body causing the heart, liver, kidney, and brain tissuedamage. Cadmium compounds have very toxic in the human body it’s half-life of10-30years, mainly accumulated in bone, kidney and other organ cause damage, leading toosteomalacia and osteoporosis. Trivalent chromium is a necessary element for the body, and it’s participation in the decomposition of carbohydrates and lipids in the body, hexavalent chromium is toxic to the human body,it can induce a variety of malignanttumors occur and cause genetic mutations, in certain under the conditions of trivalentchromium and hexavalent chromium conversion.Non-governmental’s indicators to assess the level of the quality of dishwashingdetergent is that washing effect is good or not, the GB assessment of the project isrelatively large, but according to this study it remains to be perfect. Its content of heavymetals in the dishwashing detergent with a lead content as standard, ignore other toxicand harmful heavy metal elements. In this paper, arsenic and heavy metals like mercury, lead, cadmium, chromiumcontent in dishwashing detergent were determined. Adjustments and improvements onthe experimental conditions to obtain more accurate data. Arsenic and lead are found insome samples exceeded; and control "drinking water health standards” that other heavy metals content in the sample is relatively high.Dishwashing detergent ingredients can be absorbed through the skin, gastrointestinal and transfer of the food chain to human body, so it is necessary to studyon heavy metal in the dishwashing detergent. The theory and data support to develop thenew national standard of future,to enhance the people’s environment protectionawareness and daily health and safety protection awareness.
