X80pipeline has been successfully applied in China’s West-East Gas Pipeline Project,and this work has a certain impact on the international. X80pipeline has been widely usedin the production, while the X100is just in the development of research. Although thereare a number of successful construction of the X100test section, it is not from the teststage to mass production.In this paper, the residual stress and stress under service conditions of X80pipelinewere simulated based on the finite element software ANSYS. We choosethree-dimensional tube model, and consider the physical properties of the materialschanging with temperature and heat exchange, finally we use APDL to simulate weldingtemperature. With the thermal-structure coupling technology of ANSYS, we re-enter thepre-treatment after the analysis of thetemperature field to get residual stress; And the stressunder service conditions of10MPa was simulated. Summarize the results of allcalculations and analysis of its influencing factors. The simulation results were comparedwith the theoretical results, we can found the distribution of residual stress and the peakstress of different parts are similar for the X80. Most of the simulation results andsimulation phenomenon are consistent with the results of the actual welding.The method of combination of numerical simulation and experimental to get theorganization and performance of the test pipeline steel was applied. The relationshipbetween various parameters according to the numerical simulation method was established;the relationship between various parameters according to the thermal simulation based onGleeble-3500thermal simulation machine was established. The organization﹑performance of the test pipeline steel can be predict based on the relationships set upabove.
