Aiming at the problems of the shortage of ceramic industry raw materialresources, from the angle of lower energy consumption and improving ceramicmechanical properties,the application of the dispersion crystal of glass-core precursorin the ceramic were studied. Combining with strengthening mechanism of traditionalceramic and advanced ceramic, the crystallization behavior and the strengtheningeffect of glass-core precursor in the ceramic were investigated,with glass-coreprecursor dispersing into the ceramic.Frist one or several kinds of glass-core precursor that have high hardness andgood wearingresistance were prepared. Two kinds of glass-core precursor werechoiced, the one crystalline major phases is diopside, the other is wollastonite. Theoptimal chemical composition of basic glass formula was choosed, by changed thecontent of alkali metal oxides, Al2O3and SiO2.Four kinds of R2O-CaO-MgO-Al2O3--SiO2system glass-core precursor were choosed. Mixed powders were made ofglass-core precursor, quartz, cullet and stone powder with different rate.Analysised the differential thermal analysis (DTA) graph of the mixed powders.Then the mixed powders were sintered under the optimal heat treatment system. Withthe help of X-ray powder diffraction, SEM and the test of mechanical properties,investigation was made on crystallization behavior and strengthening effect.The results showed: the ceramic body could be strengthened by new crystallinephase from heated mixed powders with certain components.
