| The aim of this research is to develop Cr2O3/ZrO2refractory materials for glasskilns.1) Cr2O3/ZrO2samples were sintered in reducing atmosphere with TiO2assintering agent. The influences of ZrO2content, ZrO2particle size and sinteringtemperature on the densification and physical properties of the samples were studied. The toughening mechanism of ZrO2to Cr2O3/ZrO2material was analyzed.2)Cr2O3/ZrO2/SiC samples were sintered in N2atmosphere with TiO2as the sinteringagent. The reduction effect of SiC on the microstructure and properties of the sinteredsamples was studied with the content and particle size of SiC.The results show that:1) Cr2O3/ZrO2sample got low apparent porosity and highvolume density when it was sintered at1550℃with4wt%ZrO2; At the samesintering temperature, samples containing46wt%ZrO2owned nice compressionstrength at room temperature; The sample which was sintered at1450℃got bestcompressive strength at room temperature, and the compressive strength decreasedwith the increasing of temperature; The sample containing4wt%ZrO2had bestphysical properties and thermal shock resistance;2) Compared to micr-ZrO2, thesample which was toughened by nano-ZrO2got better physical properties;3) TheCr2O3/ZrO2samples were not sintered densely in pure N2at1550℃. However, thesamples using SiC as reducing agent were densely sintered at the same sinteringconditions, and the sintered samples got better thermal shock resistance;4) With thedecreasing of SiC particle size, the apparent porosity of the sintered sample decreasedand the density increased. |
