Cross Wedge Rolling is a new plastic forming process, which is rolling and forginginterdisciplinary subject areas. It is a new technology, which is less cutting or no cuttingprocessing and has very high production efficiency, low production cost. This process wasput forward by the world, soon after the people’s extensive concern.The technology on cross wedge rolling is widely used in processing all kinds ofcommon staircase shaft products, but slender, tapered ladder shaft parts, this kind of largearea reduction parts (area reduction>75%) as a special forming of a kind of form alsohave broad application prospects, play an irreplaceable role in building materials,automobile shaft parts etc. But the most of slender shaft processing still use turningprocessing. It costs more time and materials. Its utilization rate is not high. And thetapered ladder shsft part is different form other shaft parts, its area reduction is continuousvariational. At present, the research on slender, tapered ladder axis is rare, its forming lawand defect mechanism of production is also lack of understanding. So I must research anddiscuss it.The finite-element analysis is a product of the development of computer andnumerical technology, is a important way in researching the cross wedge rollingtechnology. Simulation analysis the process of two-roller cross wedge rolling of slendershaft parts by the finite element analysis software DEFORM, we can get a deeper researchof the bar’s deformation law in the rolling process, in order to make up for the deficiencyof the experimental data. It can get the mould parameters on the influence law of stressand strain, the simulation process also can reduce a lot of manpower and money.In this paper, designing and calculating the related cross wedge rolling parametersdepends on the principle of cross rolling rolling and the elastic-plastic deformationmechanism of materials; Establishing the three dimension model by the softwareSolidWorks, and this paper completed the multi-objective optimization design on rollertype by the genetic algorithm in the software of MATLAB and got the optimum scheme,Finally simulating rolling process based on DEFORM platform; We can observe and study the various performance parameters according to the results. And we can analyze thesimulation results in different conditions by parameters, it also can get the factors on theinfluence law of performance parameters, this can provides a reliable theoretical guidancefor practical production.
