Boron doped diamond thin film electrode (BDD) has wide electrochemical window,small background current, high mechanical strength, high corrosion resistance properties.It was widely researched in the electric oxidation, electric analysis, electrosynthesis,capacitors and biosensors fields. In the waste water treatment field, boron dopeddiamond thin film electrode also arouse widely research because of its goodelectrochemical properties. This paper prepared the boron doped diamond thin filmelectrode by the hot filament chemical vapor deposition method, test theirelectrochemical properties, lifetime, the effects of the electrode for dye electric catalyticdegradation characteristics. After that this paper explored to make a modular borondoped diamond thin film electrode sewage treatment facilities, to treat thenonbiodegradable organic waste water of high chemical oxygen demand, highconcentration, high salt concentration.Through the chemical vapor deposition method, the boron doped diamond thin filmwas deposited in silicon, titanium, tantalum and silicon carbide with different boronconcentration. Their physical and electrochemical properties as well as the life of theelectrode was investigated, the results show that he boron doped diamond thin filmelectrode with tantalum substrate has a good life and excellent physical andelectrochemical properties.Dye waste water has been degraded and decolored by the boron doped diamond thinfilm electrode with tantalum substrate. The effects of the electrolytic time, cell voltage,electrolyte concentration and pH parameters for degradation decoloring has beeninvestigated. The results show that the diamond thin film electrode is better than otherelectrode, and it has a superior degradation decolorizing ability with the chroma removalrate up to99%.In the laboratory and pesticide factory in Jiangsu province, the pesticidemanufacture waste water was treated by the boron doped diamond thin film electrode asthe anode respectively. The results show that the modular boron doped diamond thin filmelectrode sewage treatment facility has a superior degradation ability facing the actualpesticide wastewater, with both the COD and ammonia nitrogen removal rate up to90%,and chroma removal rate near100%.
