Graphene has a unique2d nanostructure which has excellent mechanical strength, high electrical conductivity and other excellent performances, it become another newnanomaterial after the carbon nanotubes. Since the discovery, it has become the focusof scientific researchers’ attentions. The application of graphene is abroad onexploring in modified electrodes. Catalysis research of graphene modified electrode inthe oxidation of ethanol, formic acid and purine were discussed in this paper. Themain content and conclusions are as follows.1、We prepared Pt/GNS/Pt electrode by direct current electrodeposition on thesurface of platinum dish modified by grapheme with the change of the conditionssuch as current density and electrodeposition time, we obtained different electrodes. The morphology of Pt/GNS/Pt was observed by scanning electron microscope, andwe discussed the oxidation catalysis of ethanol on the surface of Pt/GNS/Pt electrode. The result showed that Pt/GNS/Pt has a good oxidation catalytic effect in theoxidation process of ethanol.2、The catalyst Pd/GNS were prepared by simple reduction of PdCl2andgraphene aqueous solution through addition of NaBH4. Pd/GNS was observed byscanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffractionand etc. The result suggested that the Pd/GNS/GC electrode (Glassy Carbon electrodemodified by catalyst Pd/GNS) has a obvious catalytic effect in the oxidation of formicacid. The negative scanning process of cyclic voltammetry has no disengagementpeak of CO. The influence of different electrolyte, such as Na2SO4,,H2SO4,NaOH inoxidation of formic acid was investigated. The results indicated that the oxidation offormic acid was restrained with the increasing of concentrations of Na2SO4, H2SO4,the trend was opposite when NaOH concentration increased. The catalytic effect ofPd/GNS/GC in oxidation behaviors of methanol, alcohol and polyatomic alcohol werealso good. The modified electrode exhibited an excellent electrocatalytic activitytowards the oxidation of formic acid, methanol and polyatomic alcohol. 3、The electrochemical behavior of guanine and adenine on the graphenemodified Glassy Carbon electrode (GNS/GC)was investigated by differential pulsevoltammetry (DPV). And the purine of colibacillus DNA sample was also detected byGNS/GC. Because of graphemethe, the electrochemical response of guanine andadenine was amplified. The two oxidation peaks was obvious in DNA sample. But thetreatment process of DNA sample and the changes of liquid environment have impacton test results, DNA samples of the best treatment process and the best liquidenvironment require further exploration.
