Abstract/Summary:
Supported metal nanocatalyst has demonstrated superior catalytic performance in lots of process. In past decades, as the development of nano-science and nano-technology, catalytic process and catalyst have been widely investigated in nano scale. More and more efforts are focused in design functional catalyst as well as deep understanding of catalytic process. Bimetallic nano-materials has attracted attention due to their unique properties. Colloid synthesis of BMNP has been well developed in many cases. Herein we propose a novel solid strategy in nano-confined space to produce thermal stable BMNP via high temperature metallurgy. The ordered nanocages of support and hetero-particles interaction are contributed to the formation of BMNP.1) mono-and bi-metal nanoparticles were prepared by reducing the metal precursor (s) in organic solution. The composition and size can be tuned.2) Au-Pd BMNP with tunable surface were produced in confined nanocages from monometallic NPs. The BMNP demonstrated anti-sintering properties and remained its size and size distribution. According to spectrum analysis, Pd species are preferred to locate on the surface of NP.3) Low concentration n-hexane total oxidation was used as probe reaction to illustrate the catalytic performance of BMNP. The exist of Au could enhance the stability of Pd content to oxidation, leading to lower T50in catalytic test. TPO program revealed that Pd in Au-Pd BMNP maintain in metal state better than monometallic PdNP.
