The TMCP technology (thermo-mechanical controlled processing) is one of the greatest advanced technologies in the twentieth century metallurgical industry. Now, it becomes the major technology in heavy plate process both in domestic and abroad. The over-all properties of the heavy plate have been improved dramatically by using this method. It can also realize the grain refinement, precipitation strengthen and the phase transformation strengthen. Comparing to the general ACC technology, the new generation UFC technical for the heavy plate has hypernorma cooling ability, so it can dramatically inprove the strength grade and its over-all properties. One ACC control system in domestic heavy plate plant was designed and produced by SMS DEMAG, but some problems are still existed, such as the cooling rate didn’t satisfy the newly steel grade technological requirements. Therefore, the more powerful cooling device is demanded. This paper, which is depend on the renovation project of this ACC control system, it combines the new generation TMCP technical-ultra fast cooling after rolling, has designed the UFC online control system.Basing on the reference of some relative documentation in domestic and abroad, this paper start with the background of the research subject, the development of the computer controlled system in the heavy plate cooling process was summarized. The evolution of the controlled cooling technical, the cooling device and the basic principle of the new generation TMCP technical were also expounded in this paper. The present work and the conclusion of this article were as follows.(1)The ACC controlled system is analysed, the black box of the foreigner L2automatic model is break, the architecture and communication process of the system and functional modules are digested and assimilated. For finding the interface of combination with technical-ultra fast cooling control system;(2)A computer control system is designed for the technical-ultra fast cooling facilities added in the factory. The system is combined with zero-level automation system, basic automation system and process automation system. Independent control ability to the new added technical-ultra fast cooling facilities are obtained, besides, the independence and integrality of original ACC system is maintained;(3)Aiming at the designed computer control system, the data stream is split and communicated by using Socket. The communication modular not only compatible with original ACC system and Siemens mill process control system, but also use shared memory to store data, so the efficiency of data transmission is improved;(4)The function of each subsystem is designed for the designed computer control system. In order to obtain the temperature homogeneity in the longth direction, the online optimal speed profile of the run-out table was established. This model can realize the varying acceleration control. Furthermore, this strategy was successfully used in the ACC controlled system;(5)Online application indicate that the technical-ultra fast cooling control system for plate rolling can achieve real time tracking and response to any incident in the process with a good control effect.
