Microarc oxidation technology is a new and environmental friendly surface treatment technology, and it has wide application prospect. A compact ceramic coating would be produced after oxidation treatment, which can increase the comprehensive performance of oxidation coating greatly. This type of oxidation coating has many advantages. For example, it can combine with the substrate with high adhesive strength; it owns good wear resistance and corrosion resistance. However, the oxidation coating shows nonuniform phenomenon when the coating is very thin, which will seriously impact the comprehensive performance of oxidation coating. This paper researches some properties on MB8magnesium alloy. The uniformity of microarc oxidation coating could be improved by injecting quantitative oxygen.The influence between coating thickness nonuniformity and technological parameters, like electrolyte concentration, alternating voltage, amount of oxygen injection and treatment time, can be studied by regression analysis. It indicates that there exists non-linear relationship between them. Injecting oxygen into electrolyte can form plenty of oxygen plasma. The uniform coating can be produced by the oxygen plasma and other optimized technological parameters.The micro-morphology and phase composition of microarc oxidation coating can be observed and analyzed by SEM and XRD. It is found that the oxidation coating has many micropore and the chemical phases are MgO and MgF2-In this study, the uniformity of microarc oxidation coating can be improved greatly, and the properties of oxidation coating can also be enhanced by optimized technological parameters. The research results will lay a solid foundation for the application of microarc oxidation technology.
