In order to eliminate the "white pollution" caused by plastic films and to reduce theconsumption of non-renewable resources, the biodegradable film researches are carried outextensively at home and abroad. On the other hand, our country as a textile country, a largenumber of cotton and hemp appeared every year, which caused textile waste and polluteenvironment. Therefore, the topic used the abandoned natural cotton fiber as main rawmaterials, and prepared the biodegradable farm films through wet paper method, and studiedits properties, in order to provide experimental reference for the development of agriculturaldegradable cellulose films. This subject mainly research the processing technology of the natural degradation paperbased cotton films through wet paper method, the choice of adhesive, and physical andchemical performance testing and characterization and analysis the performance and therelationship between the preparation process. The subject based on orthogonal experimentaldesign get paper base cotton film best copy system technology, and in the process systemprepared cotton films, test the small kind of various mechanical properties, pervious to lightresistance, insulation resistance, moisture resistance, degradability, The cotton films’ surfacemorphology and molecular structure were characterized through using scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM) and infrared spectrum, and the experimental results are as follows:(1) The properties of the cotton films of the results: dry and wet state breakingstrength are17.0N and8.5N, tearing degrees is2.48N, resistance to break is97.8Kpa,thickness is0.085mm, some of the performances can reach or exceed agricultural plasticfilm.(2) In the visible light range, the cotton film transmission rate reached68%, whichcan satisfy corn, cotton, chili peppers and other crops and vegetables of seedling.(3) The paper-based cotton films have good functions of keep the moisture andreduce water evaporation. Based on the case of the soil moisture content is31.3%,the soilmoisture content were reduced at maximum17.7%in the open air. After the paper-basedcotton films cover, the soil moisture content reduced12.1%, After the plastic films cover, thesoil moisture content reduced9.9%.(4) The paper-based cotton films have a good heat preservation property. The soiltemperature can rise at maximum6.2℃at the noon compared with in the bared layer.(5) Along with the increase of soil buried time, the degradation rate of thepaper-based cotton films had improved obviously. When soil buried7days, the degradation rate only has7.5%, after49days the paper-based cotton films degradation rate reached45.5%, but the quality of the average PE films have not change significantly buried in thesoil after49days, it showed that the paper-based cotton films have a good degradationperformance.(6) The wet strength of Cotton films account for only50%of the dry strength, itsflexibility and extensibility remains to be further improved. The subject through optimizing preparation process of the paper base cotton films andimprove the finishing, make the cotton film the mechanical properties, the transmissionperformance improved, to provide theoretical basis for further research for agriculturaldegradable cotton films. But cotton film preparation cost slightly above the plastic film, thewet strength and softness to be further improved.
