In order to make better use of the coking coal resources, improve the recovery and reducethe waste of coking coal,feasibility and technology of recleaning middlings of coking coal arediscussed in this paper. Middlings of BaBao Industrial Park Coal Preparation Plant is used assample of experiment test. Based on the size analysis and float-and-sink test, it can be seen thatthe feasibility of middlings’ rewash is demonstrated. Ideology of metal ore dressing isreferenced, then two different separating processes are presented:⑴grinding-once flotation;⑵grinding-roughing-recleaning: quantity of clean coal productivity should be big as far aspossible when roughing and the productivity of recleaning should be superior in quality.This paper mainly carry through the work following:analyse the geological conditions,chemical composition and mineral composition of sample; According to the results of analysis,determine the embedded cloth condition of middlings of coking coal, then conduct scoutingteston grinding-flotation,which mainly investigate the effect of grinding consistence,grinding timeand medium ratio. Reach a conclusion that the optimal parameter: grinding consistence is50%,grinding time is15min and medium ratio is20:25:30=1:1.4:1.6. Through the flotation tests, itcan be known that when rotate speed is1800r/min, pulp density is100g/L, volume of diesel is425g/t and volume of sec-octyl alcohol is106g/t, flotation results reach the best state. Quantityof clean coal is32.11%, ash content of clean coal is13.59%, and ash of gangue is43%withthe process of grinding-once flotation. Quantity of clean coal achieves43%, ash content ofclean coal fall to10.3%, and ash of gangue is70%with the process of grinding-roughing-recleaning. There is higher productivity of clean coal with the second process, although it ismore complex, it’s products have higher value and further exploitation potential. After a roughcomparison,it can be seen that the second process has obvious advantages, so, the processof grinding-roughing-recleaning should be adopted.The innovation points of this study:⑴Middings recleaning break the conventional thought,flotation after grinding, recover coking coal resource adequately;⑵Processes of choiceness andscavenging are adopted, strive to high-quality clean coal and gangue which lay a foundation forcomprehensive utilization of waste coal.
