Photocatalytic oxidation technology since nineteen eighties later began to use andpollution control field since, the effective destruction of many structural stability ofinorganic, organic pollutants, as a kind of new pollution control means more attention. How to further improve the photocatalytic oxidation degradation rate is now the focus ofresearch in the field of water pollution control. With butyl titanate as raw materials, using ethanol as solvent, nitric acid as inhibitors,by sol--gel preparation of nanoparticles using TiO2,30W UV lamp source simulation, simulation with red dye in water samples of refractory organic compounds, with red dyedegradation rate to measure changes in TiO2catalyst on photocatalytic degradation oforganic pollutants in water ability. This article mainly uses the method of rare earth doped to increase TiO2activity,discussed four kinds of rare earth lanthanum, neodymium, europium doped yttrium anddifferent amounts and different time photocatalytic activity; and discusses two kinds ofmetal elements in silver and iron are respectively connected with the rare earth mixturedoped photocatalytic performance. Studies of a variety of different doping amount, thephotocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants in water influence. The experimentalresults show that, doped with rare earth elements influence the activity of TiO2, can inhibitthe TiO2from anatase to rutile transformation, increase the light absorption rate, inhibitionof carrier recombination. Can obviously improve the photocatalytic degradation of TiO2.Rare earth doped in150min within the reach of the degradation rate of more than95%,and the purity of TiO2can only achieve63%.
