The electrical system improvement project of the4th Electrostatic Precipitators (EP) in Qinhuangdao power plant is studied in the thesis. At first, it is stated that the fundamental principle of the EP and the factors effecting the EP’s function. The improvement of the electrical system is studied in the paper. The electrical system includes16high-voltage rectifier cabinet and control computers,4low-voltage control equipments, relational communicational and control cables and so on. Then the functions of the Electrostatic Precipitator are thoroughly researched. The achievments of the improved elecltrical system in energy saving, low-voltage controlling, environment protecting and operation stability are summaried by comparing the original EP’s electrical system and the improved EP’s electrical system. At last, it is presented how to deal with the general faults by analyzing the common falts which occur in EP’s electrical system. The feasibility to deal with the general faults is enhanced.
