Chili is the very important product in Chinese daily life, and the Yellow Capsicum has a high level of Scoville and Capsaicin. Capsaicin has multi-pharmaceutical functions. Obesity now becomes the one of the biggest threaten to people’s health and it will cause lots of related diseases like diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, etc. Capsaicin also can play a role in reducing body fats and blood lipid. This article aimed to make a further research into the influence of Yellow Capsicum Extract (YCE) on the proliferation and differentiation of the preadipocytes and the intervention effects of YCE and YCE compounds on the lip ids metabolism of mice which were fed with hyperlipid diet.Methods:Cell culture system:Using3T3-L1preadipocytes to explore the effects of YCE and Capsaicin on their proliferation measured by MTT assay. Flow cytometry was used for measuring cell cycle. Oil Red O staining and spectrometric determination, TG and Leptin content determination were carried out for exploring the effect of YCE and Capsaicin on the differentiation of3T3-L1preadipocytes; Animal test:All the C57BL/6J mice were divided into these groups:control group, obesity model group and YCE and YCE compounds treatment groups at a high and low dose. The mice in control group were fed with normal diet and those in other groups were fed with hyperlipid diet and YCE or YCE compounds at different doses once a day for40consecutive days. In the end, body weights, body fat, biochemical indexes, liver function indexes and pancrelipase level were all detected and analyzed.The YCE and Capsaicin had inhibitory effect on the proliferation and differentiation effect on3T3-L1preadipocytes in a time and dose manner. Also it could affect the Leptin secretion of the adipocytes; Mice, which were fed with YCE, had a lower level of body weight, body fat and Lee index. Their TC, LDL content declined, while the HDL level was promoted. At the same time, TC content in liver declined also. The pancrelipase and Leptin were also inhibited by YCE; YCE compounds had the same intervention effect on lipid metabolism. But the differences lied on that it had a more obvious inhibition effect on TC level in blood and liver and pancrelipase than YCE. However it caused the increased AST level.
