The barrier properties of water vapor and oxygen of the polypropylene films have a significant impact on shelf sales of food and medical products, there are necessary of package design with change rule of the barrier properties of the polypropylene films. The effects of temperature, relative humidity, stretch orientation, annealing treatment on water vapor and oxygen permeability of polypropylene films are analyzed. Main results include:1In the same relative humility, the water vapor transmission rate and water vapor permeability of polypropylene films was increased with temperature; the oxygen transmission rate and oxygen permeability of polypropylene films was increased with temperature.2In the same temperature, the water vapor transmission rate and water vapor permeability of polypropylene films was increased with relative humility, the water vapor permeability of polypropylene film was not change with relative humility; the oxygen transmission rate and oxygen permeability of polypropylene films was decreased with relative humility.3In the same temperature and relative humility, the water vapor transmission rate and water vapor permeability of biaxial orientation polypropylene film, orientation polypropylene film, cast polypropylene film were increased successively; the oxygen transmission rate and oxygen permeability of biaxial orientation polypropylene film, orientation polypropylene film, cast polypropylene film were increased successively.4The water vapor transmission rate and water vapor permeability of polypropylene film was increased by annealing treatment; the oxygen transmission rate and oxygen permeability of polypropylene film was increased by annealing treatment.
