As an important basic chemical raw material, vinyl chloride is widely used in many fields. The polymer is one of the five general-purpose synthetic resign. With the gradually increasing demand for vinyl chloride, the production research and development of technology is of great importance. At present, industrial production of vinyl chloride mainly depend on petrochemical route, that is obtained from cracking of1,2-dichloroethane. But the traditional manufacturing of vinyl chloride has many problems, such as furnace tube easy coking, short production cycle, high energy consumption and other major problems. And the process have a lot of byproducts, in order to ensure the selectivity of VCM, the conversion of EDC was only50percent, the separation cost between raw material and products was very high.In response to these problems, the innovation of this study is to find a suitable catalyst produce VCM by catalytic cracking. The current research focused on the study of the method to produce vinyl chloride and concrete research contents are listed as follows:Suitable catalyst and support was chosen and the method of characterization of catalyst was established. Through the experiment, the catalytic properties and optimum conditions of the reaction was studied, select the appropriate process conditions and provide an effective basis for industrial production. Study catalytic reaction mechanism, investigate the activity and stability of the catalyst. The deactivation and regeneration of catalyst was studied in detail and a Practical regeneration method was evaluated. The optimal reaction conditions were:280℃,74h-1, the diameter of catalyst particle was80mesh, the average conversion of EDC was about47%and the selectivity of VCM was96%. After740hours, the conversion of EDC was about23%.
