This paper designed a system based on open CNC welding machine, which can welding in the valve body’s narrow welds. It’s based on the industrial PC platform and the VC-based interface. Through research on the welding principle of welding machine control system as well as welding process parameters to improve this open industrial PC-based CNC welding machine.First, make a comprehensive analysis of today’s domestic and foreign automatic welding technology development status and trends, and a brief introduction to the basic welding methods and processes.Secondly, according to the welding production process requirements of the project, we make the analysis of the structure of the working principle of the automatic welding system and its hardware.Then analyzed welder system commonly used in control systems, design software control system, CNC system and platform, real-time analysis and propose a solution.Finally, the welding process parameters on weld forming mathematical models to describe and predict the shape of the weld by welding experiments verify the model’s correctness.The experiment validates that this automatic welding system not only can meet the requirements of welding production process and the ability to predict and control the weld forming, but also improve production efficiency and the quality of the welds.
