As one of living radical polymerization methods, reversible addition-fragment-ation chain transfer polymerization is widely studied. It can be used for material modification and functional polymer synthesis. Because of fast curing and easy operation. UV cured materials are more and more used. But their properties after cured are influenced by high dispersion. So we would like to synthetize polymers of low dispersion by RAFT polymerization and then use them for UV curing. Our research results can be showed as follows:1. Chain transfer agent BCTPA was synthetized and used for redox emulsion polymerization of AMA. The optimum condition was confirmed and the polymer of low dispersion was synthetized.2. UV curing of the polymer we have synthetized was made using1,2-Ethanedithiol (EDT) as cross-linking agent and UV1173as photoinitiator. After that, the properties were tested and the disadvantages of this method were discussed. Then we also talked about the solutions.3. Two diphenyl methyl ketone kind compounds with thiol groups were synthetized. There are both diphenyl methyl ketone and thiol groups in one molecular. So they can be used as reactive photoinitiators.4. The copolymerization of AMA and MMA was made to get uncrosslinked copolymer. Then UV curing reactions were made use the thiol compounds which we have synthetized. The properties were improved and the prospect was good.
